Introduction

The Centre for Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals (CGRP) is one of the NUC-Accredited Centres of Excellence, University of Port Harcourt. The Centre runs a Professional M.Sc. Programme in Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Processing. Our Post-Graduate programme is industry-driven and the curriculum is drawn to impart entrepreneurial skills in our graduates. Twenty percent (20%) of the lectures are taught by industry professionals with cognate experience and qualifications; sixty percent (60%) by University of Port Harcourt, and twenty percent (20%) by collaborating university Professors nationwide in the relevant specializations.

Detailed Method of Application

  1. Application form is to be filled online.
  2. Completed copy should be printed from the applicants email address.
  3. The Hardcopy application form should also be printed and filled.
  4. A non-refundable Application Fee of N20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira) in certified bank draft made payable to the Centre for Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals, University of Port Harcourt or Payment made online via Debit card( www.cgrpng.org/payments)

REQUIREMENTS

1.

Candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Petrochemical, Gas Engineering, or related courses with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Upper Division).

2.

Industry/Company workers with 5 years cognate experience who possess Second Class Honours (Lower Division) with Cumulative Grade Point Average, CGPA of 3.0 and above will also be considered.

The program is run using a blended mode of study (Virtual/Classroom based).
The duration of the programme will be 12 calendar months of intensive full-time study. Industry/company workers can equally attend modular/sandwich programmes and accumulate credits.

Successful students at the end of the programme shall receive a PGD/ an M.Sc. degree Certificate in Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals of the University of Port Harcourt.

  1.  A handwritten letter stating your reasons for applying.
  2.  Curriculum vitae of ONE PAGE ONLY.
  3. Copies of the Credentials i.e. WAEC, GCE, NYSC Discharge Certificate & University degrees, etc and, if applicable, an attestation of attendance at an educational establishment.
  4. Detailed records of results (TRANSCRIPT)
  5.  Two recent identity photographs with your last name and first name on the back.
  6.  Bank draft
  7. NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF TWO REFEREES:– An academic (Lecturer, Head of Department, Professor)

– A corporate officer (clergy, employer, training period supervisor, etc.).
