The Chairman of the Board of the Centre for Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Engineering (CGRP) Engr. Tony U. Ogbuigwe has commended the existing partnership between the Centre and Notore Chemical Industries Limited. The Chairman made the commendation when a team comprising the Board and Management of the Centre paid a courtesy visit to Notore Industrial complex at Onne, Rivers State.
The Chairman who thanked the downstream industry giant for its longstanding support and partnership with the Centre in manpower development and capacity building also commended the organization for being a leading player in the downstream sector. He stated that the hands-on training opportunity being given to the students of the Centre by Notore has afforded them a viable opportunity for growth while also commending them for the employment opportunities to students of the Centre.
Speaking further, the Director of the Centre, Dr. Akuma Oji highlighted the willingness of the Centre to provide research and development solutions to the operational problem areas of the Company as well as other consultancy services. He re-emphasized the role of the Centre in manpower training and human capital development offered through its postgraduate programmes and short courses.
In his response, the Group Chief Technical Officer, Notore Chemical Industries Ltd. Engr Bode Agagu on behalf of the organization commended the efforts of the Centre in meeting the training needs of the mid/downstream sector. He lauded the impact of the training on the students based on the positive feedback from their interactions in the course of their field trips to the plant. He expressed the desire of his organization to continue to support the programme and to partner with the Centre in research and capacity building.
